Where Art Meets Architectural Salvage...
Yew Tree Barn is a stunning 19th Century traditional Westmorland barn in the beautiful countryside of the Lake District National Park. As a working farm until comparatively recently, it was one of the last to be farmed in the Beatrix Potter style. Clive Wilson established Wilson Reclamation Services here in 1986 in one small area of the barn, reclaiming and hand finishing oak beams in the traditional manner. From that date the business has continually grown, and now occupies all corners of the farm buildings and outside areas.
Visitors now travel from far and wide to experience the unusual and varied business that is Yew Tree Barn; customers may come for house restoration projects, garden design ideas, and just to browse through the eclectic items for inspiration. There has long been a café in the barn, and in 2006 we expanded still further to open The Gallery, and increase the areas where a variety of crafts people work from their own studios. All this has made Yew Tree Barn a very diverse and exciting place to visit, originality and creativity abound here, and we think you will relish the complete antidote to High Street shopping.
